Children and young people

None of our bags are toys and none are designed for children. 8 of them have a long adjustable strap or a drawstring, both of which are strangulation risks for small children.

• Not suitable for children under 3 years old.
• Keep drawstring bags and long straps out of cots, beds and play areas.
• Do not let a child wear a crossbody strap around the neck rather than across the body.

Plant fibre sensitivity

Cotton, jute, cork and linen are all plant materials. Jute in particular sheds fine fibres when new and carries a faint plant odour, and some people react to plant dust of that kind.

If you have a known plant fibre sensitivity, handle these bags with care, choose a lined piece rather than an unlined one, and wash your hands after prolonged contact. If you react to a bag, return it under the 30-day window and tell us — it helps us warn the next person.

Dyed pieces use reactive dyes, named on the product page. Test documentation is available on request at support@bagsofnature.shop.

Load ratings

Every product page carries a suggested load in kilograms. It is a real figure based on the seam and handle construction of that specific bag, not a marketing number.

Carrying more than the suggested load can tear a handle away from the body, and damage caused that way is not treated as a manufacturing fault. If you regularly need to carry more than the heaviest rating we list, tell us what you are carrying and we will say honestly whether we make something for it.

Carrying food

Two of our bags are shaped around food — a bottle carrier and a long bag for bread. Both are described as bags for carrying those things, and nothing more.

We make no food-contact or food-safety claim for any product on this site. We have not tested our fabrics against food-contact standards and we are not going to imply that we have. Use a liner, a wrap or a sealed container for anything unpackaged.

Cork and water

Cork fabric must never be submerged. Soaking it leaves a permanent darkened ring and can separate the cork layer from its cotton backing. Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it immediately.

No product on this site is described as resistant to water, and none should be treated as if it were.

We investigate every report, respond within one business day, and will withdraw a product from sale while we do so if there is any reason to.
